Spanking Books Review

Chatting to the lovely Katerina, she of the Spanking Books Review site, and I am told that her quite wonderful bit of the web does not get all that many hits. This is a terrible situation, and one that must be rectified as soon as possible. Come on your spankers, Katerina reviews all the latest and best CP works and gives you her honest opinion of the book. The site is a gem so please point your browser to the Spanking Books Review and give her the hits that all her hard work deserves.

Blog Announcement

Why the lack of postings, I hear you ask? Actually, I did not hear anything at all, but never mind - I shall answer my own rhetorical question.

I have been travelling for the past few days, which is why there have been hardly any posts this week. Looking ahead, I will be travelling over to Mexico the week after next, so putting the blog on Christmas hiatus from the 15th of this month strikes me as a good idea. For the next two weeks there will be some postings, but not as many as is usual, and then we shall go into clover until the end of month.

Now you know...

Love Our Lurkers Day

Today it seems is the sixth annual Love Our Lurkers Day, when spanko bloggers post something to reassure the ninety-nine percent of our readers who never comment that we really do care about them...

Now comes the tricky bit: writing that I love you all without cracking up.

Sorry, folks, but I cannot manage it. To all you lurkers out there, leave a comment from time to time to let me know what you like and don't like about the site. Second guessing you all the time based upon a fluctuating hit counter is not the easiest game in town.

Other than that, as you were!

Raven's First Anniversary

Raven Red's blog is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend. Hard though it is to believe, but the good lady has been emoting now for 365 days. Please get over there and give her your good wishes.

New Blog on the block: The Punishment Book

Dominic Hyde, pictured left with some bird whose name escapes me, has decided to start his own blog called The Punishment Book, and I am happy to give him a plug.

Known also as Daihard, this sympathetic and incredibly witty bloke has been around the spanking world for many a long year and is the organiser of the monthly London munch, the first one of which I attended last week.

Although he has been teaching recalcitrant females to mind their manners since God's dog was a pup, he is a recent addition to the blogging fraternity, so please click on the link and visit his site to encourage him into remaining a regular member of this addictive blogging club.

Blog Announcement

Blog postings are probably going to be few and far between for at least another week. I arrived in London yesterday and will be here until the 1st August, and the next week is going to be fairly hectic.

Raven arrives on Wednesday and has agreed to go to a munch for people who are interested in la cosa nostra which will take place at the Central Station bar in The King's Cross area. If anyone wants to meet us in the flesh then pop along in the afternoon before 6.00pm. Frankly, I think that Raven is going to be dead after her long flight, but she is keen to meet people that she only knows on-line so has promised to be all bright-eyed and bushy tailed on the day.

I will try to give a report on the event, so stay tuned for that!

The Ups of Blogging

As we are still on our first anniversary week I want to complement yesterday's posting about the downside to blogging with a look at the upside to the activity.

When I started this site just a year ago it was with the sole intention of using it as a hook to sell video clips with. It changed partly through the people that it introduced me to, but also because the blog is a great forum for trying out new ideas. For instance I am writing a book; I didn't set off to write one, but the postings that are archived under the Spanking Memories label were just asking to be rewritten to become chapters in a manuscript. I have set myself a deadline of the end of this month to have the work completed and then I suppose I will have to start getting used to rejection slips that will come my way, but the point is that if this blog had not existed the thought of setting down my spanking memories to paper would never have entered my head.

Had I not started the blog I would never have met Raven who quickly became not only a lover in real life but  also my confident and support. Obviously I owe an awful lot to her as well as to the countless other people who have crossed my path to the good over the past twelve months.

So what does the future hold? God knows - the blog today is a far different creature than the site that I set up a year ago so I am damned if I can even think about where it will be a year from now. That said, I hope that you are still around to enjoy it, and take at least part of your pleasure from my work here.

New Blog on the block: Scarlett Heart

A very warm welcome to Scarlett Heart, a new spanking site that kicked off yesterday. Scarlett, the nice lady behind it, hails from South Africa and she is most definitely female as Raven Red and I spent most of yesterday evening chatting to her on Skype as she set up her new toy.

Scarlett is a BDSM submissive who switches now and then and chatting to her yesterday I reckon that you can expect a pretty eclectic mix of things to read and see on her blog. Please click on over there and give it your support.

The blog is now a year old!

Your favourite uncle has been sharing his memories for exactly a year as of this moment. That's right, the blog has its first anniversary today. By a rather nice bit of symmetry, or something, the hitcounter smacked its way past the first 100,000 hits just this Friday.

Why did I start this ball rolling in the first place? When I arrived back in this country in December 2009 I could barely walk more than a few yards and I was living on the charity of friends who would put me up for a month at a time before I moved on the next spare room or living room sofa. One of them suggested that 2010 might be a good year to start selling very old spanking videos as edited down clips and that is what I started to do. The blog was then set up the following month as a way of publicising that clip site - it really is as simple as that.

The blog grew as first Bonnie over at My Bottom Smarts, then MarQe and finally Chross all noticed the site and linked to it. My thanks are due to them for making my stat porn very hardcore indeed.

Over the course of this week I will write about the ups and downs that I have experienced over the past twelve months, but for the moment let me just sit back and think: one year old today and over a 100,000 hits.

Yeah!

Le Monde de la Fessée: a new blog on my roll!

I would like to welcome Le Monde de la Fessée to my links' list. The site is a mine of information and often contains some pretty decent video clips which I have plundered shamelessly. The owner ran one of my videos back in 2008 and wondered in his posting if it was authentic or just another fake? I wrote to him the other day and reassured him that Marina - for it was her on the receiving end - had been a very naughty girl indeed and that the spanking was real.

The blog is often overlooked by English speakers because it runs in French, but even you do not have that language it is well worth a visit and then a struggle with the translation software. Believe me Le Monde de la Fessée is a real gem!

A new look to an old uncle's blog

Do you like the new look? If so then you had better thank Raven Red who spent three hours with me last night tweaking the new template into shape. Like most men I can't tell my colours apart, but she has a fine eye for such details and helped me to turn the rough and ready template that we downloaded into something rather nice.

More work needs to be done over the next few days to get all my old links up and running again, but in the meantime, what do you think of the changes?

Why the lack of comments?

Just a thought... We get around 300 hits a day on this blog, but during the whole of this month up to now we have had just three comments - and one of them was by me!

So what;s the deal with the silence, folks? I know that you are out there and that you spend more than a second or so on the site, so why not tell me what you think?

This blog is booming!

"Some readers of this blog have contacted Google because they believe this blog's content is objectionable."

That's how the new warning message  that Google has stuck up on my blog starts, before going on to say that basically Google doesn't give a stuff about content, so click the button to enter the site.

It's the word objectionable that I find most appealing. It conjures up images of anal retentives who are offended and who want their sense of that which is offensive in their sight to be noted. Verily, it is duly noted and they are cordially invited to pull their foreskins over their heads and wank themselves to death.

For the rest of you the blog is clearly hopping because we are now averaging over 300 hits a day and I hope that the dominant fellows and their suitably compliant females who make up the bulk of those hitsters will continue returning to give a traditional, British, two-fingered salute to the dickless dwarfs who live in the shadows and who find us so frightfully objectionable!

Hack Attack!

I suppose that it had to happen sooner or later: an attempt was made a couple of hours ago to hack into the accounts that run this blog, leading Google to suspend both the e-mail and blog. To get both up and running again I had to send a valid mobile number to the Google system and then  the number rang and a disembodied voice gave me a six digit code to put into the access page. Once that was done everything suddenly started to work again. I suppose the only real problem came about because whilst in Mexico I am using the crappy, semi-official mobile provider and the code has still not arrived at that number several hours after it was requested. However my son has a Nextel phone and that company got the call through in seconds.

So who hates me enough to want to put the blog off-line? Take your pick from mouthy ex-lovers who don't know their place onwards. However, one thing is clear: the buggers failed!

Looking ahead with pleasant anticipation

A posting over at Raven Red's place has put me even more out of sorts than I was owing to the effects of Monday's flight. Whilst I was in the air, suffering the pain that British Airways inflicts on its passengers,  Raven was getting her backside tawsed with an implement that I tracked down for her in England.

She went back to South Africa last week, taking with her the cane and tawse pictured above. The cane was mine and was given to her as a gift for a certain HH, but the tawse had to be bought, an activity that took up rather more of my time than I wished to dedicate to it. Eventually I found one through my contacts which at least shut up the Raven's inane prattling on the subject.

The reason why all this has left me out of sorts is that although I welted her backside with the cane, I never got the opportunity to grease up the tawse across her bare rump before both rump and tawse left the country. Raven went to Coventry for a night and had the item in her bag. She claims that the bag fell open on the bed just as she was about to leave and that the tawse fell out unbeknownst to herself.

Yes, I know, she's a woman and therefore scatterbrained and quite capable of doing stupid things as a matter of course, but this is stretching my credulity just a little too far, especially since madam had been saying that the tawse might just get lost  in the English Midlands...

To make matters worse, yesterday Raven suggested that we go and buy another tawse just like the one that went to South Africa and that was when my nose really went out of joint. Few people ever get away with patronising me - few men I really should say and no fucking women at all at least if they know what is good for them!

So, here is what is going to happen. Back in 1990 I purchased the tawse that is pictured on the left. It is a ferocious implement, and one that was left here in Mexico when I returned to the UK in December of 2009.

As soon as I saw Raven's posting I called her on Skype, and just as soon as that little chat was over I went and recovered my trusty old tawse and took a photo of it to send to her. That photo is reproduced here. As you can see from the picture below, this tawse is not a toy and I absolutely fucking guarantee that Raven la Roja is going to be sleeping on her stomach and eating her meals standing up for a week  after it has been used on her.

On that happy note breakfast calls!

Blogging...

Blogging is going to be light until the middle of January as I will be in Mexico until then. I will do my best to produce a couple of updates a week, so stay tuned.

In the meantime Raven Red has produced her take on the well earned caning that I gave her the other day, so please take a trip over to her place and read her make a drama out of the few light taps that did little more than tickle her bottom.

Hello Sally's Bottoms

Fuck or fuck off: that has always been my first rule when dealing with women. I have never forced any woman to do anything that she didn't want to do, but on the other hand if any little darling wants something from me then she pays for it first, usually on her back, but occasionally on her knees or doggie style, depending upon my mood. God bless the little darlings, but they either fuck or they get told to fuck off and that is just the way life is in Nick Urzdown's world.

The other day a little Facebook darling called Sally Phillips contacted me wanting to be my friend, indeed she claimed that she wanted me to be her mentor. Being my usual cynical self I used this little toy to check out her photos and found that some had been nicked from a Russian site. I looked at her blog and realised quickly that we are both in the trade - she is trying to earn a buttie with her site - so I wrote back and said that if she wanted my help then an end to the chicanery was a prerequisite. I also gave her a link to the archive site that I keep as an awful warning to slappers everywhere not to even think about trying it on with me. Not that Sally is a slapper - perish the thought...  Anyway, the lady has agreed to play fair and I am happy to give her a helping hand.

If she wants anything more than that then obviously rule one will apply, but as things stand I am happy to play the role of avuncular uncle so long as Sally stays a good girl. If she ever becomes a bad one then that might just have to change...

More thoughts on Raven Red

Raven Red's blog has only been running for a few days but is already a success with over a hundred hits a day - clearly we are looking at the next heavyweight spanking blog and within a very short time other bloggers will be writing to Raven asking her to link to their blogs. Good for her, but what accounts for her phenomenal success?

To succeed a blog needs to have something unique about it and Raven's South African perspective certainly creates that sense of uniqueness about her blog. Let's be honest - what do most people really know about South Africa in general let alone the country's spanking attitudes? Thanks to Raven Red we now know quite a bit, and will probably learn a lot more as the blog develops.

Secondly Raven Red brings a refreshing candour to her writing. She may change some small details to protect the guilty, as it were, but these are the real memories of a real woman. That honesty shines through her blog and helps to make it one of today's must read websites.

Introducing Raven Red: a new blog on the block

Raven Red is the nickname of a white South African woman with a blog that went  live a few minutes ago. I have seen her first few postings in draft form and have no hesitation in recommending the Raven Red Blog to you.

Raven's blog is going to be about spanking, of course, but also about the authoresses' reasons for wishing to leave South Africa. Raven plans to explore her own growing sense of submissive sexuality and also her increasing alienation from the South Africa of today. If you think about it for a moment, Raven is doubly alienated because she lives in a crime-infested, corrupt, third world shithole - and one that is deeply socially conservative to boot. Coming to terms with both herself and what is happening to her country is the aim of Raven Red the blogger.

All in all a blog to link to and visit, says Uncle Nick, so please put the word out.

Visiting some blogs 2

Getting started in the blogging game is easy: getting people to notice you is the difficult part. This blog ran for its first two weeks with about a dozen hits a day and I was getting seriously worried about reaching a wider readership. Three blogs came t0 my rescue, and i am going to dedicate today's blog round-up to them.

The first was Ludwig, the English-speaking owner of the Rohrstock Palast or Caning Place, if you prefer it in English. The blog runs in English and I wrote to Ludwig asking him to swap links with me. With commendable promptness, Ludwig had a look at my site, decided that he liked it and then put up a link from his place to mine. The hits started to increase.

Then Bonnie, the owner of My Bottom Smarts decided to lend a hand and without any prompting from me she linked to good old Uncle Nick. Verily the hits rolled in and we went from about 25 a day to roughly 800 on the day that Bonnie created her posting with the link to here in it.

Finally, Hermione, the Canadian authoress behind Hermione's Heart also ran a piece about this blog and from that moment on we went into orbit.

A German man, and two women, one American the other Canadian. . . What they have in common is simple: their blogs are well written mother-blogs that other people read to find out what is going on in this world of ours. For those of you who are thinking about creating a spanking blog, make sure that you read those three first to find out how it is done - and then ask them nicely to link to you!
