This photo is from Singapore, but it could be any general shop pretty much anywhere in Asia or Arabia. They are called maids' canes and are used for the disciplining of servants throughout the region. The stock is usually kept in a bucket or something by the door and they cost a few pennies. Many a Filipino, Thai or Indonesian rump will have danced to the tune that these instruments sing as they whistle through the air on the way to their appointment with a female backside.
I like the coloured handles!

Yes, Uncle Nick, the Asian man knows full well how to use this beautiful but painfull spanking implement called the cane. Its pliabilty, plus its sting on a naked female rear end, be she young or mature, is priceless. Bravo, Asia.
Of course Filipinos are men. Interesting that you want to highlight their punishments.. For filipinas I suppose that caning them, when they are virtual slaves, certainly captives, is better than raping them as so often happens in these countries.
Not what one would call consensual
cp is it.
I can write Spanish so I am aware that it should be rendered as Filipina, but most people are not, so I leave it with the masculine suffix.
As for the rest, I really don't care all that much. Servants are caned in these countries when they misbehave; it is the way of things.
Six of the best,
Sorry, I know that I should have replied to you first, but I forgot... Woe is me...
It's not just Asiatics, I can remember a cove in Southern Rhodesia, as was, who used to cane a maid the first Sunday in every month and one of his house or garden boys starting on the second Sunday. All tannings were administered after church, but before lunch. Said it did the servants the world of good.
Chinese, and Japanese men also make good use of the cane on their naughty womenfolk. Many a movie of theirs, depicting past era's, depict such scenes.
I knew that the Japanese were sound caners, but I did not know that the Chinese used the rod as well.
Hey Uncle Nick, I am from Singapore and yes that is a usual sight in the heartlands. Though just to note, they are not called "maids' canes" here in Singapore...unfortunately the laws do not allow for caning our maids (not openly at least)...its has also been called the rotan as well. Many Singaporeans would have at one time or other felt its effects on their bum...
I thought that the rattan was the judicial cane? Never mind and thanks for the head-up on this one. A friend of mine has one of these canes and he reports that they were sold as maids' whips, but that was back in the 1970s when he was based out there.
I did hear also that the laws on thrashing servant girls had been tightened up in that strange city state, but in the rest of Asia I am sure that it is business as usual.
